sunday inspiration. winter headband.

It feels as if staying stylish in temperatures below zero is some forbidden subject to talk about. And I am not talking about skiing equipment, but rather a normal day in the city. I often find myself looking like a huge bundle of parka combined with a scarf and a beanie. Not that I mind (warmth before fashion), but I like wearing my hair in a ponytail, a task impossible with a regular winter hat. Thankfully, someone thought of this before me and invented the warm headbands for this purpose.

plaid is not my color.

Kurt Cobain is dead, and so are the nineties.

First off, let me point out that I do love the 90s. I loved the Spice Girls, I loved my Nintendo, I cried when the Titanic sank, I was the yellow Power Ranger, and in general they were my happy childhood. I love them like one loves his first kindergarten crush - it was cute but let's keep it as a nice memory.
But no. The fashion industry is a greedy machine that would devour your sweetest memories to sell a few more pieces (aren't all industries?). We see the revival of old trends all the time, but the reason why the 'return' of the 90s goes on my nerves so much is probably because I am that generation that remembers them but wasn't a teenager crazy about the fashion, and I am definitely not very eager to become now. Do you really want any of these trends to come back?
Sometimes I fell that I am too harsh in my attitude towards plaid shirts because a lot of people have worn them for years, and are their closet staple, but going in a shop today and buying your first pair of plaid shirt? I was in a pub a while ago and there were more than 10 (with words: ten) guys in plaid. My breaking point was a few months ago when I went to Zara and the whole shop was like a 90s fan shop. Who the hell wants to look like Courtney Love today?

on jewelry size.

Musing over some of the gifts I got for Christmas, I realized that even though the last time I wrote of my preferences in jewelry was over 2 years ago, my love for minimal silverware hasn't changed much. These new pieces are showing my slow progression in the attempt to incorporate gold too in my collection, and also my new-found fascination with massive pieces, first discovered with these cuffs.

in my pockets.

I had the idea to do the classical what-is-in-my-bag post for a while, which I eventually will, but for now I am quite fascinated by the fact how many things the pockets of a winter coat can hold. Here I have the essentials for a cozy bus ride in winter - the card, the earphones and my newest love, touch gloves.

the week of casual.

Sometimes I really fell sorry for my blog, as if it were a living creature. I even have the need to apologize to it. Dear blog, I am sorry for neglecting you for so long, but moving out/traveling/having abnormal routine/life happened. Also, I absolutely hate bad lit, low quality photos on horrible backgrounds and I am absolutely aware that these are exactly like that, but I had the need to start from somewhere.
So the start happened with the realization that the primary goal I had when I created the blog was not to impress anybody with my style, but rather to follow and encourage it's evolution. And for me, the definition of a personal style is not what you wear to special occasions, but rather what you reach for in the morning before your first coffee. Following that thought, I took selfies of my outfits that I wore to class for every day of the week.
If I could make a little summary, I would point out the fact that has been well known to me for years - I very, very rarely sacrifice comfort for fashion, and the progression of my style has always been in the direction to find ways to stay comfortable, yet not be in pajamas. And since I have some time left of being a student stuck in classes for most of the day, the only change I need is maybe a new pair of boots.
